SENIOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

Columbus, Oh Senior Portrait Photography

Senior portrait photography is always fun. I enjoyed my “photo walk” with this WKHS 2016 senior and her mom today!  as we walked the Arena District near downtown Columbus, I realized today there is a subtle difference for me between a photo shoot and a photo walk.  Today’s shoot was definitely a walk.

Bailey, is naturally beautiful but surprisingly enough does not enjoy having her picture taken.  (Which I can identify with, btw – not the naturally beautiful part but resisting being in front of the camera at all costs!)  So my “job” becomes not just to be the photographer, but to be the “coach” to put Bailey at ease, make her comfortable and enjoy the time we spend walking around the Columbus arena district and finding different backdrops to pause for a few clicks of the shutter.

So while I am making Bailey more comfortable, I am more focused on my job as a coach than on my job as a photographer.  Even though I realize from personal experience that some of us never like photos of ourselves, I hope that Bailey finds a few photos from our senior walk that she can smile about.  Because Bailey you have a beautiful, natural smile.  I look forward to having another walk with you in the spring time…
